[SOLVED] problem of Long news URL
 
Hi... Ia have a big problem with long news URL..

when I click on red more news the url of read more news is very long ...


for example :

long url:

www.exampmplename.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=376:v estibulum-et-eu&catid=73:2010-06-02-11-48-22&Itemid=417

I prefer Short url how can to do this work or how can use shortest url for my read more news?

Have you tried enabling SEO settings in Joomla!, or using a SEO/SEF extension?

Hi.. Yes I enable SEF from global configuration...

and short url but when I opened read more articles I have a problem 404-errors...
after enable when I add article have the same problem 404-error

when you enabled the SEO settings, did you rename the htaccess.txt ot .htaccess ?

@ ayndegroup In Global Configuration, on the Site tab, did you set the top two items under "SEO Settings" to 'Yes'? If not, please do so. Also, as orion_ mentioned, you must rename the htaccess.txt file if you are on a Linux server.

Hi... yes I rename
but I dont know How can rename please see two ways below :

htaccess.txt renmae to .htaccess.txt

or :

htaccess.txt rebmae to .htaccess


when I rename it remove extension .txt like .htaccess or not?

You rename the one called

htaccess.txt
to
.htaccess

just like this
