Sportline Template
Some of the links in my sportline site amend the web address with the posfix 'home,' which makes the link appear in the Front Page content section instead of a new window.

Hello stephenswalton.
Can you please be more specific and tell me which link, so i can troubleshot. |
At the moment, I appear to have worked around the problem by linking all items to the main menu in some way, but you can see if you hit
Team-Pursuit, then the Home tab, you get World Masters Track Championships 2012 with the address appended with /home. Before all items were linked to a main menu tab, this would cause the item to display on the Front Page in the maincontent area instead of its own parent window, however this is going to restrict useage of the site towards the event. |

Notice that when you create your news items you have to publish the category into the menu so when you click it takes you to new window with that article only.
|
Yes exactly, only it has only started doing that recently. When we first started building the site it opened in a new parent window. Only when we started adding more items did this problem occur.
|
Any ideas yet?
|
Did you add the category into the menu?
|
I added the article to the Main Menu. Whatever I seemed to do did not work until I did this. At the moment it means I cannot add more articles unless I add them to the Main Menu.

Hi stephenswalton
You do not necessarily need to add the items/articles into the Main menu for this to work. Menus are modules (except the main top menu for the template) You do not have to publish the menu you add the articles into for them to open up in a separate page. Example. Create new Menu, which you can call Hidden Menu In it, create new menu items, which you choose either single article or category depending on if you have only one or more articles to be opened up from the specific category. Make sure the new menu items are published. This menu does NOT have to be visible anywhere in the front end (Your site) for it to work. good luck. |
