Is Experian Boost legit?

I've got a 748 credit score - give or take a few points on all three credit bureaus. I want to buy a car in the next two months. I'd like to get above a 750 to get the best interest rate.

I am considering Experian Boost. I am wondering if it is worth it? My credit file is kinda thin. I've worked hard over the last 3 years to repair my credit after a nuclear meltdown 10 years ago.

I wonder if it'll make a difference in particular situation.

I assume Experian is offering this in exchange for the opportunity to gather reams of data on my spending habits (by looking at my banking?)
