Winner template stops the shoutbox

Hi

I brought the winner template but it stops my shoutbox smileys from working

This happens on ALL my sites but I switch to the grids template and it works OK

for some reason with the yvsmiley it wont transfer the dots/fullstops

If you switch to the default Joomla template you see you can enter dots without problems. I'm not sure what weird code they put in their template but it's killing the dots.
